Stop the Spread

How is Technology Helping Stop the spread

In today's climate we are still dealing with COVID-19, with cases still climbing to is day, we have made technology that helps stop the spread of the viruses while also keeping use distance and protecting us from each other.

According to the CDC, the total case of Covid-19 is around 20,732,404 and the total death is around 352,464 that's in the U.S. alone. In New Hampshire Two companies are teaming up, and using technology to tackle covid-19. NHBR stated that "Bluetooth-based solution for accurate contact tracing and includes a symptom checker to effectively track potential Covid-19 exposure while maintaining the privacy of users. …By integrating Wellbility with the pre-entry temperature reader, the app will provide key healthcare information to users at the individual and organization level. Temperature data collected from the OPTR will be saved on an individual user’s phone within the Wellbility app, which will aid in the early detection of COVID-19 symptom onset.".
From this app, it will limit or even stop the spread through touching other objects. If other companies around the world used this it would help just as much as masks do.

Masks have change dramatically around the world. They went from these thin flimsy pieces of fabric, to more protective face masks that cover more of the user's face and lowers the amount of air that passes through that fabric. companies have made double layer thick masks that are far more protective.

Restaurants have done a similar thing where their menus are online, then you can call in and order your food and wait outside from it to arrive. In other restaurants. They have tents outside to limit the amount of people inside the building. The tents provide more air to flow in and out.

At a local ski resort called Pats Peak, they're also trying to stop the spread of the virus, but still be open to the public. In order to ski at the peak, you have to wear a mask at all times. This also goes for other mountain other then Pats Peak or mountains in New Hampshire.

With these new technology that help prevent COVID spread and the vaccines that is on the way, The virus could dissipate in the coming months. wearing masks and staying social distance will be a big help to everyone.

  1. Sophie - Hi Ben! I found the app that you talked about briefly really cool and an interesting take on COVID response, do you see things like this actually taking off? Or just a cool and interesting idea?

  2. Ben, good focus on the local connection to technology that's helping with Covid-19. Is Pat's Peak using technology to help slow the spread or just being innovative with their techniques?

What's the global connection to technology that is helping slow the spread of Covid?
